Let’s make music together

If you have followed my blog posts and tweets you know by now that I am searching for better ways of working and being together. I am convinced that we can and need to organize human work in another way. It is urgent because I would like to see this change happen now for our children’s sake. I think the traditional management paradigm from the 19th century, which still is in use today, is dysfunctional.

This search for a better way has led me to the discovery of many different approaches. I have for example been working with software development my whole working life, so I am familiar with Agile software development. Over the years I have also led many workshops and gatherings in different contexts, and with different purposes, which has led me to explore Large Group Methods. Lately, I have also encountered Dynamic Self-Governance. All these approaches have one common theme and that is to turn human potential and creativity into reality. Furthermore, I think it is possible to combine these different approaches in very powerful ways. One approach could be to combine Agile software development with Dynamic Self-Governance, and I think this has been done in a few places. Another approach would be to support the circle organization of Dynamic Self-Governance with Large Group Methods. The possibilities are endless.

Finally, I would like to let Gregg Kendrick share his vision about better workplaces where people can thrive. At the end of this video clip (22 minutes from start) he talks about the cosmic symphony which we all are meant to be part of. He says we create the music by showing up fully as human beings, coming together around common purposes that really matters. I like that metaphor.

Let’s make music together!
