Welcome to my new Pleroma instance

I installed Pleroma on a Raspberry Pi (RPi) in May 2022. Now, seven months later, I’ve replaced the RPi with a more powerful Intel NUC. The RPi had become exceedingly slow and Pleroma crashed several times per day. The Known Network had grown to 150k people. The move from the RPi to the NUC was straightforward but took some time.

It was very easy to install Ubuntu on the NUC. I downloaded the latest Ubuntu Desktop version and created a bootable USB stick on my laptop. The NUC started immediately.

Pleroma is lightning fast on the Intel NUC with Ubuntu 22.04.

However, I got problems with intalling the SSL certificates on the NGINX server, and with restoring the Pleroma instance’s data. I let the utility for restoring the Postgres database run for hours (almost a day) but finally gave up. Maybe the backup of the archive was corrupted somehow? Or, maybe I didn’t wait long enough to let the utility finish its job? I imported my follows from a csv file instead.

Pleroma is lightning fast on the NUC and has been running two days now without any problems. I like this!

Update 2023-02-14: Pleroma has been running almost two months now without any crashes.
