This is a post in my series on organizing “between and beyond.” Other posts are here. This is a retrospective of what has happened during the week. The purpose is to reflect on the work itself. Here is my previous retrospective. Here is my next retrospective.
What has happened? What needs to be done?
Paavo Pylkkänen’s two books, The Search for Meaning and Mind, Matter and the Implicate Order, arrived this week.
- I really look forward to reading Pylkkänen’s books!
From left to right: Pylkkänen, The Search for Meaning; Pylkkänen, Mind, Matter, and the Implicate Order;
Bohm & Peat, Science, Order, and Creativity; Bortoft, Taking Appearance Seriously.
I finished my re-reading of David Bohm’s and F. David Peat’s book Science, Order, and Creativity. Here is my exploration of Bohm’s & Peat’s notion of order. And here are my thoughts on implicate vs. explicate orders for organizing. Deeper generative orders for organizing are implicate. Imposing explicate orders for organizing on a situation creates a belonging together. Here is more on belonging together vs. belonging together.
I also finished my re-reading of Henri Bortoft’s Taking Appearance Seriously. Here is a post on the very quality of livingness which is based on Bortoft’s book. And here i Simon Robinson’s (@srerobinson) comment on my post. Simon also provides links to his two articles on livingness. One is here and the other is here.
Jon Husband (@jonhusband) forwarded this post on Wholeness: A Coherent Approach to Reality – David Bohm. Here are some quotes of David Bohm on ecology, organization, thinking, dialogue, and wholeness.
Finally, here is my review of Jean M. Russell’s book on Thrivability.
What was good? What can be improved?
I appreciate this week’s input from Simon Robinson and Jon Husband. Simon has been very supportive. Here are some of the books Simon has recommended including links to some of his book reviews.
