Management as stewardship of the living

There was a Stoos Connect gathering in Amsterdam this week with some twenty speakers including Steve Denning, Dan Pink, and others. Videos of the talks will be made available on-line shortly.

Going forward, Steve Denning suggests the following Five Guideposts For The Future Of Leadership and Management:

1. We need to recognize the extent of the challenge
2. We need to think bigger
3. We need to be bolder
4. This army needs to work on removing the constraints
5. We need to evangelize the change

I fully agree with Steve Denning that “… the idea of management conceived as stewardship of the living is a big, fundamental shift. It’s different. It’s a paradigm shift.” And it’s very much needed!
